Post Race Awards- 9:30am

The interior of the Streets of Indian Lake will be CLOSED to traffic on race day.

· During the event, vehicular traffic will be controlled by Hendersonville Police Department. The course is semi-closed to traffic. This means that traffic is not allowed in the lanes in which you will be running, however there may be some traffic in the opposite lane of traffic. Please run smart and be aware. Due to the nature of this course, the use of headphones is HIGHLY DISCOURAGED.

· This course is an out and back course. While it’s tempting to take up the entire lane of the street, we will have runners coming back towards you! Please always run on the RIGHT SIDE of the race course.

Course Cut Off Times-

The City of Hendersonville graciously provides access to several main roads in the city, as well as Police and EMS support. To ensure that we are good stewards of these resources, as well as impeding local traffic, the Hendersonville Half Marathon has a 3 hour and 30 minute cut off time. (16 minute/mile pace) This will minimize the time for the closure of main streets from vehicular traffic. The lesser time for the roads and streets are closed.

All runners must meet the following race cut off times. Runners that are unable to meet these times will be removed from the race course.

· ½ way turnaround- 1hour, 45 minutes

· Mile 9- Just before Gallatin Road- 2 hours, 24 minutes

· Mile 12- Saundersville Rd- 3 hours, 12 minutes

We are so excited about our NEW, FLAT race course! However there are a few spots where we need you to be aware, and to be cautious of:

Mile 1.10- Entering the Greenway.

The entrance to the greenway is a narrow path, followed by a 90 degree right turn. Please spread out as you enter the greenway.

Hendersonville Police Department and our Course Marshall's will be on hand to stop traffic and this very busy intersection. Please make sure you follow the directions of the course marshals and run in the designated lane only!

On this out and back course, most of our runners will pass each other on this stretch of the course. This part of the course is also one lane of the road that is closed for traffic. Please run on the right side of the marked course.

Because this is an out and back course, please be aware of the same spots on your return to the finish line.

There are 9 Water Stops on along the course. Each water stop will have Water, Gatorade, and First Aid supplies. These are located at:

Mile 1.1

Mile 3

About Mighty Mitchell Foundation

So, why do we do this? We want to put on a great race, but we also want to raise money for a great cause. We can’t think of a better cause than Mighty Mitchell Foundation.

The idea for the Mighty Mitchell Foundation was created after Mitchell was diagnosed with Leukemia in 2014 at the age of 4 and our family was introduced to this scary reality for families battling pediatric cancer.  Very early on we discovered how great of a need there is for families and patients affected by cancer.  Many of these parents are young and do not have a lot of financial means and battling this disease along with financial and emotional stress creates a toll on families.  We created this foundation to be a support organization to help connect families to resources as they battle this disease.  Unfortunately pediatric cancer research is significantly underfunded so there is a huge need to have more research provided.  There is a lot of stress on families and our goal is to help provide some hope for families going through treatment with a child to save marriages, provide hope and a source of happiness to patients that lose peer interaction and the pureness of being a child, along with siblings that lose a lot of attention from family members while their brother or sister receive care.
