Rotary Club of Hendersonville

The Hendersonville Half Marathon has become one of the Rotary Club of Hendersonville's yearly fundraising events to benefit a local charity.

2020 will be the fifth year of our race. A few fun facts from our first four years:

  • In the past four years we have had runners from 28 different cities in the state of Tennessee in addition to Hendersonville.

  • Our reach out of state includes Alabama, Arkansas, California, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Indiana, Kansas, Kentucky, Louisiana, Maryland, Michigan, Mississippi, Missouri, Nebraska, New Jersey, North Carolina, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, South Carolina, Texas, Virginia, West Virginia and Wisconsin!

  • With 26 states represented, we are more than halfway there to having runners from every state.

  • We've also been joined by runners from Canada, Germany and Poland!

  • The first two years we raised money for Mary’s Magical Place in support of their efforts to build a playground for special needs children here in Hendersonville.  The playground is open and is attracting national attention for its quality and design.

  • In years three and four, our race committee chose The Mighty Mitchell Foundation as the focus of our fundraising efforts.

  • Our sponsorship funds allowed us to certify the course, purchase safety vests, run internet and paper advertising and pay the company that registers the racers and sets up our start/finish line.

  • This race has engaged the high school honor societies, business clubs, athletes and volunteers from the community. The Streets of Indian Lake has been very supportive of our efforts, as well as Fleet Feet, the YMCA and many local hotels. And, of course, we could not have pulled off the event these last two years without the support of our Mayor's office, the Hendersonville Police Department and our EMTs.
